When leaving the superyacht on August 30, he gave every crew member a jersey of his former team the LA Lakers.

One of the reasons why celebrities love to charter this yacht is her styling and artistic interior — with an original Andy Warhol in the owner’s study, a David Lachapelle Pop Art image in the elevator foyer and quirky sketches by Jean-Michel Basquiat dotted around the yacht.

Trending was delivered by Westport in 2006 and underwent a $4M refit in 2015/2016. This superyacht can sleep up to 12 guests in six luxurious cabins with a crew of 11, which includes Michelin-star trained chef Charlie Blacker, who won the 2016 Antigua Show Chef’s Competition. She boasts an elegant interior with vast windows that provide plenty of natural light throughout, as well as a contemporary TV lounge complete with drinks bar.

Delivered in 1987 by Tough Shipyard and extensively refitted in winter 2016/2017, Atlantic Goose can sleep up to ten guests in five elegant cabins, which includes a full-beam master suite with a private study. Her elegant main saloon is the perfect place for relaxing with the family and comes complete with a lounge, drinks bar, and a small informal dining area. She can host up to 100 people for static events or, during a more private adventure, guests can enjoy sunset cocktails in the al fresco dining area – you can even bring your dog too.

Her distinctive silver exterior design was created by Espen Oeino and she is one of the largest aluminum motor yachts with conventional propulsion in the world. On deck, she boasts a helipad, bar, numerous lounging areas, and an eight-person Jacuzzi.

Understanding YACHT CHARTER Lingo

All rates based on 8 days/7 nights charter.

“+ All Expenses” means:

• 35% APA Advance Provisioning Allowance for food, beverages, fuel, dockage, etc. (Unused allowance is refundable.)
• 4%-22% VAT Value Added Tax according to country visiting and itinerary
• 10%-20% Customary Crew Gratuity based on charter fee
• Estimated Total Expenses – Add on a minimum of 67% for APA, VAT, Gratuities

Charter Terminology

The Mediterranean Yacht Broker Association (MYBA) was established in 1984 by a group of prominent yacht brokers with the aim of promoting a standard of professionalism and ethics in the yachting industry throughout the Mediterranean and worldwide.

MYBA terms have proven to be fair to both the charterer and the yacht so most charter yachts operate on MYBA terms worldwide. MYBA yachts and membership to brokerages have a proven track record of professional excellence in the yachting industry, thereby offering valuable benefits and safeguards to our clients choosing to charter.

Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA): The Advanced Provisioning Allowance is collected with your final payment and is forwarded on to the Captain in order to prepare for your charter. The APA is estimated at between 20 and 35% of the charter fee depending on the yacht and the charter location. The final expenses may be more or less depending, on your individual requirements. The captain will be responsible for the accounting of your expenses; he will advise you periodically as to the disbursement of the APA and will provide receipts at the end of the charter. Should you spend more than your estimated expense allowance, say by ordering unusually expensive items, staying in expensive ports or doing excessive cruising, additional payment will be required during your charter. Conversely, unspent APA will be refunded to you at the end.

VAT – There is a VAT imposed by European Union nations. VAT can vary between 5.2% and 20% of the charter fee. Not all yachts are subject to VAT. Specifics of VAT will be discussed directly with you in situations where it might be applicable.

Gratuities – Crew gratuity is customary yet discretionary at 5%-20% of the charter fee based on service received. The recommended level varies depending on where the charter takes place. Often higher gratuities are expected in the US and Caribbean than they are in the Mediterranean and other parts of the world. The gratuity can be handed to the Captain for distribution to the crew members at the end of the charter or can be sent afterwards via wire transfer.

REVIEW OF COSTS

Basic charter fee includes:

• the yacht and all its equipment from spa to water toys to entertainment systems
• the crew wages and their food
• the ship’s laundry
• operating consumables
• insurance coverage for the yacht and crew

Additional: Other expenses that will be charged to the charter at the cost paid with no markups:

• food and beverages for the charter guests,
• fuel for the yacht and tenders
• harbor fees
• communications
• guest laundry
• dockage
• shore-side electricity
