IN THE WIND ITINERARY

The crew will then meet you and welcome you on board. Once on board, un-pack and enjoy a light lunch before setting off for a two-hour sail to the magnificent Koh Hong.

DAY TWO – KOH HONG TO RAI LEI BEACH KRABI: Wake up to a beautiful sunrise in this stunning anchorage and enjoy an early kayak through all the caves and caverns. Once breakfast is served, set off for a three-hour sail to the famous ‘Rai Lei beach’ on Krabi. This location has a lot to offer, from snorkeling to beach combing, to the unique bars and restaurants ashore. Later on, take the tender ashore to dine at The Grotto, a truly unique dining experience.

DAY THREE – RAI LEI BEACH TO KOH PHI PHI’S: After a morning paddle or swim, set off for a two-hour sail to the famous Phi Phi Islands. After arrival, explore Monkey Beach, where you will get the chance to see a troop of monkeys out in the wild. After a lunch on board, it’s off to the Koh Phi Phi Don Beach to check out the infamous bars. In the afternoon, we will move the boat over to Maya Bay, where the movie ‘The Beach’ was filmed. Have a quick scuba dive or snorkel before sunset.

DAY FOUR – KOH PHI PHI’S TO KOH LANTA: In the morning, if you are a scuba diver, we will offer a morning dive. If not a scuba diver, take a snorkel in this truly magical bay or paddle and explore the limestone rock formations. After breakfast we set sail for three hours to Koh Lanta. Enjoy a swim or a walk on the beach, and later on, book yourself a local Thai massage.

DAY FIVE – KOH LANTA – KOH MUK – KOH ROK NAI: In the morning we will set sail for the ’Emerald Cave’ on Koh Muk Island, about a two-hour sail away. The Hong on the inside can be accessed by kayak or swimming. Once inside you will see why they call it the Emerald Cave. After our cave adventures we will enjoy a delicious lunch on board before setting sail to our night anchorage, Koh Rok Nai, about a two-hour sail away. After arrival we can offer a scuba dive from the back of the boat, and finish the day sipping on Muy Thai’s and watching the sun go down.

DAY SIX – KOH ROK NAI TO KOH LIPE:  After sunrise we will hoist the sails for a nice five hour downwind sail to the Butang island of Koh Lipe. After arrival tender ashore to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of their local restaurants and take in the views beach side. After lunch we will offer our last scuba dive. Those who would rather snorkel or adventure to a small waterfall are welcome to. We finish the night with a delicious BBQ on the boat and watch the sun go down.

DAY SEVEN – KOH LIPE TO LANGKAWI YACHT CLUB: Set sail after breakfast for a five hour sail.  Arrive at the marina and clear into customs and immigration. In Langkawi every passenger will have to physically come into immigration. once back on board we will have cocktails by the marina pool and following happy hour we will meet for dinner reservations at the delicious restaurant and reminisce of the past weeks.

DEPARTURE DAY – LANGKAWI: Take in the amenities the marina has to offer, check out the swimming pool, or take a taxi to the cable cars and get an aerial view of this lush island. The airport is only a short taxi ride away from the marina and crew can arrange for pick up.

By far, the easiest way to access this incredible area is via Phuket International Airport. From there it is a short taxi ride to the marina where you will join the boat. Due to local legislation, a charter that begins in Phuket, Thailand must end in a different country. We usually suggest Langkawi, Malaysia for drop-off. Langkawi is also an easy location to fly in and out of.

Seven nights gives a great opportunity to experience this area, and it is also possible to book extended trips, in order to see some of the outlying islands. This would be ideal for divers!

Captain Aileen and First mate Dave have been working together for nearly five years. Through the years they have worked aboard large sailing yachts, running charters for guests and owners. Between them they have experience working in the entire Caribbean chain, the Mediterranean, The Hawaiian Islands, Australia, and now South East Asia.

This dynamic duo is a professional and energetic crew. Their background is in diving, sailing and traveling around in search of delicious cuisine. Their enthusiasm for what they do is infectious, whether it be scuba diving, free-diving, surfing, sailing or anything which involves the ocean and nature.

Captain Aileen and First Mate Dave, welcome you on board the S/Y IN THE WIND.
