Ice cream and ocean-themed sugar sculpture by Chef Mora Nia of the M/Y JANS FELION

British Virgin Islands Charter Yacht Show 2019 Top Yacht Chefs

The 38th BVI Charter Yacht Show, hosted by Nanny Cay Marina, was held from November 7-10, 2019 in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. More than 60 yachts and 100 yacht charter professionals attended the on-water charter show to vet the very best in the upcoming charter season. The much-anticipated Culinary Contest reveals the talents and commitment to charter brokers and ultimately to charter guests when crew participate with their hearts and souls.

Spectacular Under the Sea-themed blue sugar sculpture with blueberry ice cream, blueberry cake and edible chocolate glitter sculpture was created by Nia Mora of S/Y Jan’s FeLion.

Congratulations to all the players! Here are this year’s Top Yacht Chefs and winning yachts at the 2019 BVI Charter Yacht Show.

Theme: “Under the Sea”

Coordinator, judge and author of Ship to Shore Cookbooks Jan Robinson is shown above with 2019 BVICYS Top Yacht Chefs Hannah (S/Y LUNA) and Nia Mora (S/Y JAN’S FELION). Captain Jan Robinson advises participating chefs when he/she can expect the judges to visit his/her boat. Judges are prompt.

Chefs are expected to prepare 2 dishes – one for tasting (and 4 forks, please), and the other for photography purposes.

Preparation should be done by the Cook/Chef as representative of a dish they would serve on charter.

Along with awards for best in each category there is an award for the best use of local produce.
